AJ Macaulay

Profile

AJ joined DWF in 2025 with a background in patent litigation and trademark enforcement after articling at a boutique intellectual property firm in Calgary. AJ was called to the Alberta Bar in 2025.

With experience appearing before the Alberta Court of King’s Bench and Court of Justice and assisting on matters before the Court of Appeal of Alberta, the Federal Courts, and the Trademarks Opposition Board, AJ employs practical and client-centred approach regardless of the subject matter or complexity.

AJ received his JD from the University of Calgary Faculty of Law. During law school, AJ volunteered with Student Legal Assistance which gave him valuable advocacy experience. Prior to law school, AJ obtained a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees, specializing in biomechanics and human performance.

In his spare time, AJ can be found trying to entertain his two young boys, spending time with family in the BC interior or training for his next endurance event
