Alex Schinkel

Profile

Alex joined DWF as a summer student in 2024 and returned to complete his articles in 2025. He was called to the British Columbia Bar in 2026. Alex maintains a broad civil litigation practice and regularly assists clients in construction litigation, general insurance matters, subrogation, strata law, and insurance defence. He has appeared before both the Provincial Court of British Columbia and the Supreme Court of British Columbia.

Alex earned his Juris Doctor from the Thompson Rivers University Faculty of Law in 2025. Throughout law school, he was actively involved with the TRU Law hockey team and the Business Law Club. Prior to law school, Alex earned a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Northern British Columbia, where he served as the Student Representative-at-Large on the University Senate and placed nationally as a member of the UNBC JDC West Debate team.

Outside of work, Alex enjoys travelling, training for races and HYROX competitions, and attending as many concerts as possible with friends.
