Profile

Katie is a new associate with DWF. Katie practices in the area of insurance defence, with a developing focus in personal injury, commercial litigation, and coverage matters. Katie joins us from a full-service firm in Halifax, where she developed expertise in defending bodily injury, fatal injury, construction negligence, automobile accident, and property loss claims. Katie has successfully represented clients before the Nova Scotia Small Claims Court, Nova Scotia Supreme Court, and various administrative tribunals. Katie is a passionate and determined litigator, bringing a disciplined, results-oriented mindset to each and every file.

Katie earned her Juris Doctor from Dalhousie University’s Schulich School of Law and is a member of the Nova Scotia bar. While at law school, Katie acted as a co-chair of the Environmental Law Students Society, completed a clinical semester at Dalhousie Legal Aid Service, and worked as a research associate in the areas of international environmental law and aboriginal law. Prior to law school, Katie obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Queen’s University, where she swam competitively with the university’s varsity swim club.

Outside of her legal practice, Katie loves attending CrossFit classes, participating in fiercely competitive Scrabble matches with her friends and family, listening to pop music, and discovering new cafés around Toronto.
