Cameron Kennedy

Profile

Cameron is a litigator specializing in defense of property damage claims arising from flooding as well as construction or contractor negligence claims, and commercial host liability claims arising from personal injury claims. Prior to the ICBC no-fault scheme, his other primary practice area was motor vehicle accident personal injury litigation, both insurance defense for road maintenance contractors and representing injured plaintiffs in claims against ICBC. He is also experienced in coverage defense, as well as environmental regulatory criminal defense work.

He has appeared at BC Supreme Court for three successful trials. Two plaintiff personal injury jury trials, each jury award significantly exceeding the defense formal offer. The third was a property damage defense file for a road maintenance contractor in a flooding claim (2023 BCSC 1977), where after having the Plaintiff’s claims dismissed, he was able to collect $50,000 in defense costs. He appeared at BC Provincial Court in 2026 for an environmental criminal defense Gardiner sentencing hearing, successfully disputing Crown evidence seeking aggravating factors to substantially increase my client’s fines.

Both in and out of the courtroom, Cameron is hard working, positive, and outgoing. He has built strong relationships with his colleagues and with his local community of lawyers. He enjoys the challenge of difficult cases, and solving complex problems.

Cameron is currently on the board of the non-profit Needs of the Community Society. The organization helps underprivileged teenagers obtain driver’s licenses to increase employment opportunities and organizes camps for adults with disabilities.
