Sami Abbasi

Profile

Sami joined DWF as an associate in 2025 with a background in insurance, insolvency, employment, and commercial litigation. Prior to joining DWF, Sami articled at a large national full-service law firm in Calgary. Sami was called to the Alberta Bar in 2025.

Sami received his JD from Thompson Rivers University in 2024. During law school, Sami competed in the Immigration, Refugee, and Citizenship Moot where he won the first place Champion group prize, and the Wilson Moot, winning Best Factum. Prior to law school, Sami received an undergraduate degree in Commerce from the University of Calgary.

Outside of work, Sami is a Barrys’ enthusiast and enjoys weightlifting, hot yoga, and shopping.
