Brock’s cyber experience includes handling business email compromises, ransomwares, and other high‑impact cyber incidents. He provides strategic and hands‑on support to clients navigating urgent breach situations. He also regularly conducts data exfiltration assessments to help organizations determine what information may have been accessed or encrypted in a cyber incident. Brock works closely with organizations, insurers, and incident response teams to coordinate efficient, defensible investigations.
Brock develops incident response plans tailored to clients’ operational realities and regulatory obligations. He ensures that organizations are prepared to respond quickly and effectively, minimizing legal exposure and business disruption. Brock provides advice on provincial and federal privacy legislation, including compliance with mandatory breach notification requirements, sector‑specific regulatory frameworks, and cross‑border data considerations. He also assists clients by participating in threat actor negotiations, helping to manage sensitive communications, assess legal risks, and conduct effective negotiations.
Brock successfully represents clients before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, Ontario Court of Appeal, and various regulatory bodies and tribunals. Brock has also practiced in British Columbia, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Nova Scotia, and New Brunswick.

Johnson v. Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board, [2025] O.J. No. 246: Brock successfully brought a motion compelling the plaintiff to attend an independent medical examination and extending the time to serve an expert report, despite being less than 60 days from pre-trial.
Rosen v. 2740309 Ontario Inc. et al., 2024 ONSC 6693: Brock successfully defended a motion for an interlocutory injunction to prohibit a downtown Toronto bar from making noise during certain hours, allowing the bar to continue to operate.
Bradley Court Limited v. Tinkasimire, 2024 ONSC 2367: Brock successfully dismissed a counterclaim for being frivolous, vexatious, and an abuse of process.
Johnston v. Nichilo, [2022] O.J. No. 3494: Brock successfully defended a landlord at trial in a claim for bodily injury, resulting in the plaintiff walking away without costs.
